Brew our next chapter | Kaapse Crowdfunding

Kaapse Brouwers · Rotterdam · Crowdfunding 2026

Independent beer.
A permanent home.

Twelve years of brewing, building and bringing people together. Help us create the next chapter of Kaapse Brouwers on Rotterdam’s waterfront.

Our brewery is already up and running at the Kaapse Kaai. Now we are building our taproom next to it: a place for great beer, good food and awesome people who make it all worthwhile. With more than twenty years ahead of us at this location, we want to get it right.

From the Fenix to our next chapter

Kaapse began in 2014 at the Fenix Food Factory on Katendrecht, among Rotterdam’s cheese makers, coffee roasters and bakers. We brewed crazy beers, invited other brewers over and built a place where there was always something to discover.

We bring that same spirit with us to a former peanut butter factory on the Nassaukade, beside the river Maas. We already brewed our first beer at De Kaai on the 7th of August 2026. The brewery is operational and construction of the taproom is under way.

We intend this to be our last move. The brewery and taproom will be built regardless; the crowdfunding helps us finish and equip our long-term home to the highest possible standards.

Watch the plans take shape

The campaign film is in Dutch. The English story and practical information are set out on this page.

More room to brew. More reasons to stay.

01 · BREWERY & TAPROOM

Brewed, mere metres from the bar

Small, adventurous batches served straight in the taproom. Meet the brewers, ask what went into your glass and discover something you have never tasted before.

02 · FOOD & COMPANY

A place to get together

A taproom and restaurant for long evenings, tastings, brewery tours, celebrations and events, with a kitchen inspired by Mediterranean and Levantine flavours.

03 · INDEPENDENT ROOTS

Rotterdam to the core

A long-term home for an independent brewery: rooted in the city, open to the world, and free to choose what we brew and who we work with.

Good beer starts at the farm

Through Gerse Gerst, we work with farmers using regenerative and nature-inclusive principles on Voorne-Putten and in the Hoeksche Waard. Together with Rotterdam de boer op!, Hof van Heden and maltster The Swaen, we are building a direct trade route.

We buy barley directly from the farmer and have it malted in Kloosterzande. At the Kaai, we want you to see and taste that connection: from grain to glass.
